‘Horns WR, Beaver CB enter draft … Kind of quiet out there today, but we can report that two more juniors have announced that they will be entering the 2021 draft including Texas WR Brennan Eagles and Oregon State CB Nahshon Wright. Both are considered to be third-day type prospects at this time, but both have intriguing size and have the potential to go earlier. In fact, Eagles is a TE sized wideout at 6-4, 230 who was a big-play threat at Texas, although he never had a ton of receptions. This past year, for example, Eagles had only 28 catches in 9 games, but did average almost 17 yards per and scored 5 times; he is currently rated as the 36th best WR on the GBN positional ranking. Meanwhile, Wright is listed at 6-4 on the Beavers’ team roster and had 5 picks over the past couple of seasons; he’s #34 on the GBN CB ranking. And speaking of Oregon State, star OLB Hamilcar Rashed has confirmed that he will be entering the upcoming draft. Rashed had a dominating year in 2019 when he rang up 14 sacks and 8.5 other tackles, but opted to return to school and was a non-factor this fall posting just one tackle for loss and no sacks. There had been a little speculation that Rashed might take advantage of the NCAA’s option of a free year of eligibility, but clearly has decided that any rehab of his football rep will come at the next level.
