Hello everyone, I’m Gary, the new web guy and tech guru for Great Blue North. I’ve been working on this site for a few months now and after a few false starts, we went live with the new site on December 29th.
I’ve created this page to post news, information and updates about the new design as well as to answer questions about it.
We’ve got some exciting plans for the site in the coming months, so stay tuned.
If you’ve got any suggestions, questions, complaints or comments, feel free to leave us a note in the comment section below.
You guys need a new web designer!! With all the ads jumping off and on and covering up the player lists, information, rankings, etc. I find your website very difficult at getting information. What’s more Ive always printed out your Big Board list the day of the draft and followed it in conjunction with the TV, ticking off the players as they were picked. Can’t do it this year because the ads cover up some of the list and players 1-14 or so are so far to the left margin only their schools are seen–no names! (this happens on both portrait and landscape print outs) So, with much disappointment I have moved to another Big Board website for my Big Board fix.
Bob: That’s what I was afraid of. We did switch to a different ad server this year and it really hasn’t worked out and we will be going back to the old at the end of the month.
Thanks for the comment.
PS Same with the numbers; the ad server kept putting them in.
Eagles have a #5 (2022) from Washington.
2021 sixth-round pick (No. 225 LS Camaron Cheeseman)
2021 seventh-round pick (No. 240 DE William Bradley-King)
Love the site, including your draft trades tracker! Noticed a slight error for 2022 – Carolina & NYJ are swapped:
Carolina has a #2 from NY Jets (QB Sam Darnold)
Carolina has a #2 from NY Jets (QB Sam Darnold)
Just wondering if Pigskin Paul’s player rankings are the same as the GBN Big Board? If so, in his recent NFC South mock, how does he justify TB taking Paye at 32 when he’s ranked 13th? Clearly nowhere near the parameters he set for himself for conducting these mocks.
Wendell… My rankings are separate & different from GBN Big Board. Right now I only have my Top 100 selected without rankings. I will set my first Board after the Underclassman list is posted officially by the NFL. I have also identified my next 50. I usually end up with a list of just around 300 players. Past 200 I will list the remainder alphabetically. Still watching carefully for those ‘Bama and UGA underclassmen to declare. Pigskin
The Rams kept their 3rd in the Stafford trade #88… The Lions received the 3rd round comp pick #101.
The vikings have a fifth round pick for next year 2021 in a draft trade with the bears in 2020
I am trying to advertise on your site through banner ads and sponsored posts. I have sent several emails but no reply to any of them.
Can you please let me know if you accept advertising. I keep trying because I do not know if the messages are being read and simply being ignored or no one has seen them. I would appreciate a reply.
Will pass on to our editor Colin Lindsay.
Thanks for updating your 2019 projection! My primary issue with it is your selection of a qb for New England in the first round. Not happening for a number of reasons: (1) Pats are all about value, so choosing a 4th rated qb in the 1st round is not what they would ever do. I don’t see them picking a qb to at least the 3rd round especially since Brady is expected to be around for another 3 years any way. (2) Depending on who is still available at 32, Pats will go with a DT, DE, TE, or S if they see value there. (3) I know you don’t really like to include trades but I can easily see the Pats either trading this pick for an established WR (like they did Cooks a few years ago) or they trade out for a lower pick this year and a first rounder next year. There is a good crop of qb’s next year so having an extra first rounder would help them move up the board in 2020. Enjoy your site very much!!
Noted; thanks Bob
Love your site:) i think the Vikings double down on Clemson and get tre lamar in the second to replace barr
Interesting take, but I am, not aware we have heard that LAMAR is leaving early… yet .I like LAMAR a lot and think he is underrated, or just plain overlooked by most Draft media. From what I saw of the Vikes last night tho it’s their Offense that may need more help than the D.
I love your site guys. i noticed that in today’s update to the GBN big board that UCLA CB Fabian Moreau is listed twice (at #64 and 86) so I thought I would let you know in case you haven’t already noticed it or been alerted to it.
Thanks Larry!! ed
I enjoy your site.
Thanks for the draft coverage.
I was looking at the traded picks.
I was looking at the 2018 traded picks and noticed you had not updated the list with the 2nd 2018 pick of the Houston Texans, to the Cleveland Browns, when they traded for Osweiler and the sixth this year for a Cleveland 4th compensatory pick as well as $16 million in cap money due Osweiler.
I was hoping to see an additional 3rd round pick in the third for the Cleveland Browns, but that was probably wishful thinking.
The Rams Titans Trade stipulates the #3 pick the Rams give the Titans in 2017 will be the comp pick that they will be getting for Janoris Jenkins….which is what is now predicted will happen based on salary and performance. So Rams will be keeping their own 3rd this year and giving up the compensatory pick.
I think the 1st pick in the 3rd round by the Browns is still up in the air. I believe it will go to the Browns if they receive 3rd round compensatory picks. New England will get one of the compensatory picks. Check your traded picks. You all were saying the pick would become a #4 in 2018. You do a great job. I check your site daily. Even the sponsors.
Your website shows that the Browns don’t have a 4th round pick. You might want to rethink what you are saying about the Browns trade for Jamie Collins.
We did! If the Browns don’t get a #3 comp pick this year (and after losing free agent C Alex Mack to Atlanta this past winter most expect they will) the Patriots will get a 4th rounder in 2018. PS who is Pete?
Sorry Colin, I thought I was refering to Pigskin Pete. Thanks for clearing this up for me. I am a Browns fan and hoping for the best. I check your site daily and think youi guys are the best out there covering the NFL and the NFL Draft. One name to remember is Tyler Orlosky of WVU. He is an excellent OLineman and should be in your top 100 by draft time.
Do you still have the page with eligible seniors and juniors that you used to have on website all season? That was a great tool to give me players to watch for each season. I haven’t been able to find it this year however. Thanks
Yes Mr. Parker has been updating that page in the drop down menu on the home page.
I’ve been a Vikings fan since they became a team in the 60s, and I really like how your doing the draft comparison rankings to position taken vs GBN vs Ourlads vs PP… that and your summary. Can you do that for the Vikes? Craig
Will pass the request along to Pigskin who is always accommodating ….ed
After years of head scratchers, like the late pick of K. Williams, Troy W. at #7 and Underwood picks, it’s been good to see something solid in back to back to back years.
Oh… that was quick, thanks!!!
Things have really gotten better in the Vikes Draft Room with SPIELMAN in recent history. Yes I remember some of their seeming Draft Day bumbles. Pigskin
On your Big Board, you have Zeke Elliott, RB from Ohio State ranked # 6. No other site that I have seen has him ranked at all. Are you sure that is approximately correct?
Tell all to keep up the good work, I have been a big fan of GBN for 10 years!
Okay, now that I have posted and gotten egg all over my face, I see that Zeke is short for Ezekiel, and all is well in Draft Land. Oh well. We’ll still have a wonderful time in Chicago next month.
JIm, don’t beat yourself up on the name thing. I am constantly flashing back to players with the same last name, but different first names or vice versa and my mind subconsciously inserts the wrong name. Pigskin
Been A loyal ready for years, but your links don’t seem to work on my tablet or PC. When I try to scroll to a link, say, SELECTION ORDER, it disappears. What is your fix?
Been following your site for years (especially the positional rankings), but I do have a question about the new format. Where does one find your current Mock Draft, barring the search option? It’s not listed under any of the tabs.
Hi David: We noted earlier in the week that with all the trades and free agent moves our mock was really out of date so we took it down; should have a new one Friday though. ed
What happened to the free agency scoreboard?
Russell: Should go up just prior to the start of free agency.
I like the new site, however I wish the font setting was in bold.
Really like the new web site format – very easy to read – good job. Here’s hoping you can design the draft preview site for this summer and next fall I will be able to use the GBN preview of draft eligible players as a guide to watching college football next fall. Keep up the good work – read your site each day.
THanks Chuck, I am proud to be on board with Colin. Please take a few seconds and clikc those ads when you visit. Gotta pay the bills, like the sight re-design cost.
I guess I’m in the minority, but I liked the old site much better.I knew where everything was at and could find what I was looking for much easier.
Steve, just keep visiting and click on more sites and drop downs and before you know it you’ll be totally comfortable with the new site design. Go with the flow and embrace change… it is inevitable.
The site looks great. I have been a loyal reader for a decade, and it is great to see the content is just as good as ever, while the layout/navigation is vastly imporved. Keep up the great work! I like the twitter links to your posts, this is a nice a much need touch! I want to see the GBNREPORT have a bigger twitter presence, you deserve it!
This has always been my go to site for draft information. I love the changes, keep up the nice work!
Your site is missing the draft Trade Value Chart that was available on your old site
Colin will check that out. It is listed as a separate item in drop-down for Draft INfo.
