‘Select’ fans, players to be allowed to attend draft … The NFL just its released its formal plans for the 2021 draft in Cleveland which gets underway in just 38 days. Unlike last year, when the event was almost entirely virtual, a select number of fans and top prospects will be allowed to attend. Each team will be allowed to designate a number of fans, whom the league is euphemistically referring to as ‘draft ambassadors’ who will get front-row seats for the draft. However, anyone attending the draft must still be vaccinated and wear masks. Several prospects will also be in attendance, while additional prospects will also participate remotely from their homes around the country. As reported earlier this month, team personnel involved in the selection process will be permitted to gather in their respective draft war rooms, although again strict covid protocols will still be in place including maintaining appropriate social distancing and wearing masks.
