Top CB prospect Farley to have back surgery

Top CB prospect Farley to have back surgery … Teams looking to add a CB early at the 2021 draft were thrown something of a curveball when it was announced that Caleb Farley of Virginia Tech, a legit potential top ten candidate for the upcoming draft, will not be taking part in the Hokies’ pro day workout this week because of a back issue that will be addressed surgically on Tuesday. Farley will have a microdiscectomy performed at that time to deal with a herniated disc. The good news for Farley is that the surgery is minimally invasive and he is expected to be ready for training camp later this summer, but clearly not the kind of thing you want to have on your resume 38 days before the draft. It is also not the first time Farley has had a back issue as he missed a couple of games at the end of the 2019 season after tweaking a nerve in his back.
