USC LB Smith dinged … Southern California ILB Cameron Smith, one of the top prospects at the position for the upcoming draft, is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game with Arizona State because of a knee issue. Smith, a 3rd day prospect ranked 7th at the position among ILBs by GBN, actually missed the better part of the Trojans’ past couple of games because of a tweaked hamstring. However, Smith likely won’t play against ASU after he had fluid drained from his knee earlier this week and received platelet-rich plasma and Monovisc injections. That’s the same knee in which Smith tore an ACL as a true freshman in 2015. And while nobody here is a doctor, that sounds like the kind of thing that could be chronic which could scare some teams off at the draft. If nothing else, it likely means that Smith will get extensive medical evaluation during the pre-draft testing period this spring.
