College football notes … Michigan State has confirmed that WR Felton Davis, the team’s leading receiver and a solid second tier prospect for the 2019 draft, will miss the rest of the campaign after he ruptured the Achilles’ tendon on his left leg during Saturday’s loss to intra-state rival Michigan. Davis is expected to undergo surgery and faces a rehab period of 4-6 months which could make his ability to work out for pro teams prior to the draft somewhat problematic. Meanwhile, TCU has dismissed WR/KR KaVontae Turpin after he was arrested this weekend on charges of assault with bodily injury to a family member from an incident in New Mexico last spring. For the record, Davis is currently the 14th ranked WR on the GBN positional listing while Turpin was 26th. At the same time, UMass QB Andrew Ford, #21 on the GBN’s QB Positional Rankings, is expected to be out for the season because of a torn MCL suffered in Saturday’s loss to Coastal Carolina.
