Wrist to keep star Tide FS out of combine, pro day … Sources in Alabama are reporting that star Tide FS Deionte Thompson will not be able to participate in on-field drills and testing at this week’s scouting combine in Indianapolis after undergoing surgery on Friday to repair a torn ligament in his wrist. Thompson will reportedly be out for 6-8 weeks meaning he will also miss Alabama’s pro day on March 19. It is still possible though that Thompson could be able to workout for pro teams in the week or so before the draft. Thompson is projected to be one of the first safeties off the board this coming April after a season in which he earned first-team All-American honors while recording 79 tackles, along with 4 forced fumbles, 6 pass breakups and 2 interceptions.
