Panthers take QB Levis #1 in GBN mock

October 11, 2022

Panthers take QB Levis #1 in GBN mock … Let’s try that again … It appears that there was a cyber-glitch in this projection and some people saw an older one; we think the problem has been corrected. Sorry about that!! Since we just posted the first full current selection order for the 2023 it seemed like a good time to also post an updated projection for the upcoming draft, especially since the NFL season is essentially at the 1/4 pole, while the colleges have pretty much reached the mid-point of their campaign. And with the first pick overall, the Carolina Panthers selected Kentucky QB Will Levis, while Las Vegas grabbed Alabama DE Will Anderson at #2 and Pittsburgh snapped up Georgia DT Jalen Carter with the third selection. Of course, a whole lot is going to change between now and the end of April. We don’t really expect, for example, that Las Vegas will end up picking that early, although that’s where they are this week after 4 tough losses to start the season. We’d also expect Pittsburgh to trade down with a QB-needy team – and there are several out there with multiple first round selections – if they are picking 2-3 after taking former Pitt QB Kenny Pickett with their #1 pick this past April. Again, as we tell people, the point of a mock draft at this time of year is NOT to try and predict which team is going to take which player 7 1/2 months from now, but rather to give an idea what players are likely going to be available at different points in the draft given the latest information out there. So here we go!
