NFL planning fall back for draft … For now the 2020 draft is still scheduled to be held in Las Vegas for April 23-25, but the league is drawing up contingency plans because of the COVID-19 pandemic. If the coronavirus remains a threat, the league hopes to be able to still conduct the draft, but by conference call with teams submitting their selections by phone. It is not clear, though, just when the cut-off date for such a decision to be made. For the record, the draft is 6 weeks away. Meanwhile, the start of the new football year, including the start of the free agent signing period scheduled for March 18th is also still on, however, the league is also considering pushing all that back with a decision expected by Sunday.
