Mr. Irrelevent no more!! … We won’t know which team will have the #1 pick, at least for this week, until after the late afternoon games after both the NY Giants and Atlanta, who had the 1st and 2nd picks respectively coming into the week, both got their first wins of the season. The Jets will end up with the top pick this week if they lose at Miami in a 4 PM game; a Jets win though and Washington would go to the top spot. Whatever the result in Miami, Washington will have one of the first two picks, again at least for the week after they lost 20-19 to the previously winless Giants. The Giants went ahead for good when rookie LB Tae Crowder, the 255th and last player selected at the 2020 draft returned a fumble 50 yards for what turned out to be the winning score, although it actually only stood up when the DC No-names failed on a two-point conversion after scoring to pull within a point in the game’s final minute. Despite their wins, the Giants and Falcons will sit no worse than 3rd and 4th respectively in this year’s selection order with the rest of the top ten still to be determined based on this week’s remaining games.
