Strong pro day puts Gopher WR Bateman back in picture? … Very interesting performance at the Minnesota pro day today where star Gophers’ WR Rashod Bateman had a really strong outing. Bateman raised some eyebrows early in the day when he measured in at 6-0.5, 190 which is significantly smaller that his program weight of 6-2, 210. Bateman, though, didn’t leave any doubts on the field where he ran the 40 in 4.39 and had a 36-inch vertical. If nothing else it gives NFL personnel departments something to chew on. Bateman was generally considered to be a potential top 10 prospect for the upcoming draft at the start of the season, but he never really got going and eventually opted out. Turns out he had had covid during the summer and may never have been 100% during the fall. 0f course, that’s just what the 2021 draft needs, i.e., another really good receiver.
