Buzz has Ward top QB; Sanders all over the place …We are coming up on the three months to the draft mark later this week, so there is a lot time for things to change, but there does seem to a growing consensus around the NFL that Miami’s Cam Ward has emerged as the clear #1 QB prospect for the upcoming draft. And while he may not be quite as highly-rated as Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels last year the sense also seems to be that he’s worthy of being the #1 pick overall if somebody wants to go that way. On the other hand, it appears that Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders is emerging as the most polarizing prospect this year. No question Sanders was immensely productive over the course of his 4-year college career as he is an outstanding distributor of the ball, but he lacks both elite arm strength and athleticism. Which begs the question at what point in the draft does he become a value pick. Currently, there does appear to be teams that still view him as a legit top 5 candidate, while others have him somewhat lower. Indeed, there are some whispers around questioning whether he’s even worth a first-round pick, although that does appear to be a very minority opinion, at least at this time. At the same time, there also appears to be a growing sense around the league that Jaxson Dart of Mississippi has emerged as QB3 in this year’s draft class, although he is still considered to be more a top 20-25 type candidate. As such, we have revised both the GBN positional ranking for QBs as well as the Big Board to reflect those developments.
