And rather than try and write the same thing over and… Read More »

Shoulda, coulda stayed in school

Shoulda, coulda stayed in school … No question that underclassmen played a huge part in the 2019 draft. Indeed, 9 of the first 10 players selected this week, and over 20 of all opening round picks, were either juniors or redshirt sophomores.  However, it wasn’t all peaches and cream for those underclassmen that did enter the draft. In… Read More »

Cards, Dolphins close to a deal for QB Rosen … Arizona is reportedly close to trading QB Josh Rosen to Miami for what is expected to be the 48th pick in the second round of tonight’s draft. The Cardinals, of course, already own the first pick in tonight’s second round, the 33rd overall.

Cardinals back on the clock

Cardinals back on the clock … The first round of the 2019 draft is in the books but there won’t be a lot of sleep this evening for NFL personnel people as most teams will be resetting their boards and getting ready for the second day which gets underway at 7 PM ET Friday evening with a ton… Read More »

Washington has moved up to #26 in trade with Indianapolis in exchange for the 4th pick this year and a second rounder in 2020. Redskins take OLB Montez Sweat who was considered to be a top 5-10 talent but slipped because of concerns about a possible hear condition.

Couple of late trades. Green Bay gets #21 from Seattle for the 30th pick and a pair of 4th rounders – #s 114 and 118.  With the deal, the Packers selected with Maryland FS Darnell Savage. Meanwhile, Philadelphia gets the 22nd pick from Baltimore for the 25th pick, along with the 127th and 197th picks.

First trade of the 2019 draft with Pittsburgh moving up from 20 to 10 to select LB Devin Bush. In the process the Steelers likely leapfrogged division rival Cincinnati who also had to be targeting Bush. In exchange the Broncos get the 20th and 52nd picks this year and a 3rd rounder in 2020.

A lot of very happy folks in Buffalo after the Bills sit tight and still get DT Ed Oliver, one the best players in this draft. Maybe the best pick of the draft so far!!

Second surprise pick of the top 6 as the Giants go with Daniel Jones of Duke rather than Haskins. Time will tell, but obviously Dave Gettleman and company felt that this was their guy. Certainly a change of pace. Giants fans of course are praying that he turns out better than the last Duke they selected in the… Read More »

Still no trade as Bucs go with the logical pick of LSU LB Devin White. Really interesting choice for the Giants who can take either Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins or go with a top defensive player in Josh Allen or Ed Oliver.

Did we really need to send all our scouts home to keep this one a secret! Wow. Great pick back in January where Ferrell was rated in the top 5, but he had reportedly slipped on most teams boards. Meanwhile, Buccaneers on the clock. This would be the first pick with a reasonable chance of a trade if… Read More »

Jets do not trade the #3 pick; instead stick with their value board and sneak off with Alabama DT Q Williams who may be the best player in this draft. Raiders now on the clock with supposed ‘surprise’ pick .

Not sure why the Cardinals had to use up their full allotted 10 minutes to take the guy everyone has known they were going to take for weeks unless the NFL told them to to rachet up the suspense. Whatever now the real draft starts with the 49ers choosing between Bosa and Q Williams.

Think the NFL isn’t changing! We just had QBs go #1 back-to-back in successive drafts, one was barely 6-0, the second was 5-10!

Cardinals apparently still thinking on their pick at #1 as they look at the wall in their war room for almost the full ten minutes!!!

For the record, we get underway officially at 8:13 PM ET with the Cardinals on the clock.

And away we go! The commish gets booed meaning we are underway!!! Cardinals are on the clock! For the record, looks like a huge crowd in Nashville and so far the weather is holding. Away we go!!!
