‘Horn DT enters draft … In a bit of a surprise Texas junior DT Hassan Ridgeway announced yesterday that he will forego his final season of college eligibility and enter the 2016 draft. While not rated as highly as some other junior defensive linemen, the 6-3, 310-pound Ridgeway could be something of a sleeper. Despite starting just eight games this fall because of injuries, Ridgeway still managed to record 36 tackles, including 3.5 sacks after posting 6 sacks as a sophomore in 2014. At first blush, Ridgeway looks to be a mid-round prospect with the potential to move into the latter part of the second day; for now the GBN has him rated as the 13th best DT for this year’s draft. Ridgeway is also the 24th underclassmen to have announced in one way or another that they will be entering the upcoming draft. Elsewhere, Boise State junior DE Kamalei Correa finally confirmed that he was in fact entering the draft; there had been published reports earlier in the week that Correa was entering the draft which he initially denied.
