Top picks unchanged

December 13, 2020

Top three picks unchanged; 4-5 still up for grabs … Updating the earlier report on changes in the 2021 opening round selection as a result of today’s action, the top three picks remain unchanged, as the NY Jets will again hold onto the top pick for the 2021 draft for at least another week, while Jacksonville and Cincinnati will again be sitting on the 2nd and 3rd picks overall respectively this week. Indeed, Dallas’ win over the Bengals does make it all the more likely that the Jets, Jaguars and Bengals will end up with at least one of the top three picks in whatever order. However, there is an interesting situation at the 4-5 picks which won’t be decided, again for this week, until after tonight’s game between Buffalo and Pittsburgh. If the Steelers win, the Chargers will hold the 4th pick with Dallas at #5, but a Bills win would have the two teams flipping for the 4-5 picks. All clear!!  Meanwhile, the rest of the first dozen or so picks at least for this week will look like Carolina at #6, Atlanta at #7, Miami, with Houston’s pick at #8, Philadelphia at #9, the Giants at #10, Detroit at #11, San Francisco at #12 and Denver at #13. As usual, the full opening round selection order will be updated after tomorrow night’s Monday night game.
