UGA QB Daniels cleared to play; Duck S Holland opts out … With SEC contender Auburn coming to town this coming weekend, Georgia got some good news when QB J.T. Daniels was finally cleared to play, although Dawgs head coach Kirby Smart says he still has to win the job in practice this week. Daniels had all the look of a future #1 pick when he started for Southern California as a true freshman in 2018, but missed the entire 2019 campaign after tearing an ACL in the Trojans’ season opener last fall. Daniels ultimately transferred cross-country to Georgia, but was still waiting for clearance to play until this weekend. Meanwhile star Oregon FS Jevon Holland, a mid-first round prospect for the upcoming draft, has confirmed that he has opted out of the season and will begin prep for the upcoming draft. Holland is currently the top-rated safety on the GBN positional board and the #17 prospect overall on our Top 100 listing. At the same time, Louisiana-Monroe CB Corey Straughter, one of the Sun Belt Conference’s top prospects for the 2021 draft, will be out for the rest of the season with a wrist injury. And for those that missed it, the Mid-American Conference has opted to play a 6-game schedule beginning early in November.
