Tide S McKinney slow in 40 run

March 1, 2020

Tide S McKinney just okay in 40 … The safeties have finished their 40-yard runs at the scouting combine in Indianapolis and while the times are still unofficial the main talking point will be that Alabama’s Xavier McKinney didn’t run anywhere near as well as expected with a 4.64 clocking. McKinney was reportedly neck-and-neck with LSU’s Grant Delpit to be highest rated safety for the upcoming draft, but that time isn’t going to help. For the record, Delpit didn’t run today. However, there were some really fast times among some of the other lesser known safeties so far. L’Jarius Sneed of Louisiana Tech, for example, blitzed a 4.38, Clemson’s Tanner Muse had a very fast 4.42 clocking, Southern Illinois’ Jeremy Chinn clocked a 4.46, Terrell Burgess of Utah had a 4.49 and Kyle Dugger, another rising small-school star finished at 4.50.
