Report: Browns looking at UNC QB with top pick … According to a report this a.m. by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Cleveland is very interested in North Carolina QB Mitch Trubisky. According to the report: “Trubisky has not received as much press as higher-profile quarterbacks, but the junior and first-year starter is one of the better prospects in what is perceived as a shallow QB class, and sources said the Browns have been particularly impressed by him. The franchise, which uses a heavy reliance on analytics, has strong grades on him, and it’s not a secret in the scouting community how highly the Browns rate him.” The 0-10 Browns, who will be at Pittsburgh when the NFL Sunday schedule kicks off in less than an hour, currently are sitting on the #1 pick for the 2017 draft in the proverbial ‘if the draft were held this week’ first round selection order and are in desperate need of a major upgrade at the position after passing on Carson Wentz, now with Philadelphia, with the second overall pick last April. Of course, much can, and likely will change between now and April 2017; we are also getting close that smoke and mirrors time of the year so one never quite knows what to make of these kinds of reports.
