WRs Claypool, Jefferson run well in first

February 27, 2020

WRs Claypool and Jefferson make money in first wideout 40 group … Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs  and CeeDee Lamb of Oklahoma don’t run until the second group of WRs a little later tonight, but a couple of second-tier receivers including Chase Claypool of Notre Dame and LSU’s Justin Jefferson laid down the gauntlet in the first group of receivers. Indeed, people had been talking about the 6-4, 238-pound Claypool as a likely TE at the next level, but teams may be rethinking that after he ran a quick 4.43 unofficial 4o clocking. Meanwhile, Jefferson posted an equally impressive 4.44. Texas sprinter Devin Duvernay and versatile Memphis RB/WR Antonio Gibson were the quickest WRs in the first group with 4.40 clockings. On the other hand, somewhat disappointing times were turned in by Arizona State’s Brandon Aiyuk (4.50), Quartney Davis of Texas A&M (4.55) and Quintez Cephus of Wisconsin (4.73).
