Wolfpack QB likely to miss time … North Carolina State QB Devin Leary, one of the solid second-tier QBs in the 2023 draft class, could miss time after injuring his shoulder in last weekend’s win over Florida State. Leary reportedly does not require surgery so the team is hoping he’ll be back sooner rather than later, but right now is non-committal as to how long Leary could be out. NC State at 5-1 and ranked 15th has a huge game this coming week at Syracuse against the 5-0 Orange which in ranked 18th. Same story on an even bigger stage as Alabama is reportedly ‘hopeful’ that QB Bryce Young will be able to this weekend when the 3rd ranked Tide face what is expected to be their biggest challenge of the season when they play at resurgent Tennessee, the 6th ranked team in the country. Young, who sprained an AC joint in his throwing shoulder a couple of weeks ago, did participate in warm-ups prior to last Saturday’s win over Texas A&M, but notably didn’t throw any passes during those pre-game drills.
