Willis aces pro day … It was Liberty QB Malik Willis’ turn to do the pro day thing earlier this afternoon and by all accounts he had a very strong showing. The ball was just popping out of his hand with minimal – and sometimes no real – windup. There were a couple of wild, high throws, but for the most part Willis, whose accuracy has sometimes been brought into question, were right on the money. In particular, he dropped 3-4 deep passes in a virtual bucket, including one that traveled at least 65 yards in the air that Willis launched while falling away. On the other hand, Willis didn’t show much in the way of movement skills as he doesn’t have to, but did throw a number of off angle throws. Also note that pretty much the same crowd that watched Kenny Pickett’s pro day at Pitt yesterday were at Liberty today including full contingents from Carolina and Atlanta. Bottom line, it’s still unlikely that a workout like we saw today is going to change anybody’s grade, but it is not going to hurt. Its also not going to hurt seeing Willis interact with his teammates and support staff as he appeared to bring a lot of energy to the show in which everyone just seemed to be having fun out there. Next up, is Ole Miss’ Matt Corral who will throw late Wednesday afternoon around 4 PM ET again on the NFL Network.
