Who to watch in Saturday’s big SEC games … The focus in college football will shift back to the SEC this weekend with a pair of games with major playoff implications. In the first #3 Georgia will be at #15 Mississippi at 3:30 PM ET on ABC. Then at 7:30 #11 Alabama visits #16 LSU, also on ABC. In fact, the Tide-LSU game has all the makings of an elimination game as both teams each already have a couple of losses, while Ole Miss is in the same boat going against the 3rd ranked Bulldogs. Its also going to be an intriguing day for pro scouts, especially those on teams looking to upgrade at QB, as all four of the starters in those two games are very much part of the discussion at the position for the 2025 draft. Here’s who we’ll be watching in the two big SEC games.
Of course, those are not the only two games on this weekend’s college schedule. Indeed, continuing the theme above for teams lookingfor QB help, in addition to the two big SEC games, a number of other leading QB candidates will be front and center including: Miami’s Cam Ward when the Canes play Georgia Tech at Noon ET on ESPN; also at Noon ET, Quinn Ewers of Texas will be on the field when the Longhorns host Florida; at 3:30 PM ET on CBS we’ll get another look at rising Indiana QB Nathan Rourke when the Hoosiers host Michigan; while there’ll be a Shedeur Sanders siting when Colorado plays at Texas Tech at 4 PM ET on FOX. And just for a change of pace, FOX will also have Boise State hosting Nevada at 8 PM ET. For those that have been out of the universe, Boise State is lead by star RB Ashton Jeanty, who is currently the consensus leader in the race for the Heisman as he’s averaging almost 200 yards per game, over 50 yards more per game than the second leading rusher in the country. For the record, the #2 that tries harder is Kaleb Johnson of Iowa who will be featured Friday evening with the Hawkeyes play UCLA at 9 PM ET on ESPN
