well, I guess that nails that down

Well, I guess that nails that down … Indianapolis owner Jim Irsay tweeted out on Sunday that all options are still on the table for the Colts who currently have the 4th pick in this year’s draft. According to Irsay, the Colts ‘could stay put and take a QB, or trade up and take a QB, or trade down and maybe take a QB – OR NOT.’ As we say, that just about nails down what the Colts plan to do on the 27th. On a slightly more serious note, there appears to be a sense around the league that the Colts have a preference for Kentucky’s Will Levis over Anthony Richardson of Florida should they ultimately get that choice assuming that Alabama’s Bryce Young and CJ Stroud of Ohio State are selected with the first and second picks respectively. According to that buzz, the Colts just feel that, everything else being equal, Levis is much closer to being ready to play than Richardson, who while super athletic is more of a project as a QB. However, with just 10-11 days to go until the picks start coming off the board in Kansas City, there really isn’t a whole of other buzz out there. There does seem to be a sense around the league that Georgia DT Jalen Carter, who had been considered to be the top non-QB prospect prior to being involved in a fatal car crash back in January, isn’t going to get past Seattle or Detroit with the 5th or 6th picks. In fact, with just two days left for teams to have out-of-town prospects in for on-site visits, Carter will be in Detroit on Monday to visit with the Lions.
