Wake QB Newman to transfer; Ducks possible landing spot … It wasn’t all that long ago during this past season when there were whispers that Wake Forest junior QB Jamie Newman was one of THE players to watch for the 2020 draft. Newman confirmed today that he won’t be back at Wake next fall, but it won’t be for the NFL. Instead, Newman has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal and will be playing elsewhere as a grad transfer. The early whispers are that Newman could end up at Oregon next season where he would be the odds on favorite to replace Justin Herbert who will be playing his final game with the Ducks in tomorrow’s Rose Bowl.
