Vols DT gets boot from Rocky Top

Vols DT gets boot from Rocky Top … Tennessee has dismissed DT Emmit Gooden after he was arrested for an altercation in which he hit his girlfriend in the head with a glass jar candle causing lacerations on her left eyebrow and the corner of her left eye that required sutures. Gooden missed the entire 2019 season with an ACL injury, but emerged as a potential 3rd day prospect the previous year when he recorded 7.5 tackles for loss. As of this time, it is not clear what the 2020 season path will be for Gooden. Meanwhile, veteran Arizona OLB Tony Fields, another 3rd day candidate for the upcoming draft, has somewhat surprisingly entered college football’s transfer portal. Fields is somewhat undersized for an OLB at 6-1, 220, but he has good speed and range and had 94 tackles for the 2019 season, including 58 solo stops.
