USC WR London confirmed out for year … Everybody at USC was hoping for some kind of miracle diagnosis on star WR Drake London who suffered what appeared to be a serious leg injury in Saturday’s win over Arizona. But it didn’t come as school officials have confirmed that London, one of the fastest rising prospects in the 2022 draft class, will miss the rest of the year with a fractured ankle. London actually scored a TD on the play on which he was injured when he got tangled up with a DB trying to make the tackle. London was ultimately carted off the field in tears and spent the second half in civvies on the cart with his leg in a hard cast. In recent days, London has been talked about as a possibly top 5 prospect for the upcoming draft. He’s listed at 6-5, 210 and is an excellent athlete who has also played with the USC basketball team, although there are some questions about his pure, long speed. London came into the Arizona game with 79 receptions for over 1,000 yards, more than any FBS player ever through 7 games. Prorated over a full 12-game schedule, London’s numbers this year would work out to 141 receptions for over 1,700 yards. Certainly it appears that London is headed to the draft even with the injury, but given the normal recovery time frame for an injury like that, he’s likely only 50-50 to be ready for the scouting combine at the end of February.
