USC, UCLA now accepted by Big 10

July 1, 2022

USC, UCLA moving to Big 10 … That didn’t take long! Literally just hours after it was revealed that Pac-12 powers Southern California and UCLA were ‘considering’ joining the Big Ten comes word that they have in fact been accepted by the Big Ten and will begin play there in 2024. That would give the Big Ten 16 teams spread from coast-to-coast and is the latest shot in a battle between the conference and the SEC for dominance in college football. No word yet how the revamped Big Ten will organize itself. Also no word yet what happens to the remaining Pac-12 conference which still has some very attractive teams including Washington, Stanford, Oregon and Arizona State. What would make some sense might be some kind of union between the Pac-12 and Big XII which of course will be losing Oklahoma and Texas, its premier programs, to the SEC in 2025 if not before. Stay tuned!
