USC OT being evaluated in pysch facility … Southern California junior LT Chad Wheeler, a leading prospect for the 2017 draft, is being held in protective custody in a local hospital where he is undergoing psychiatric evaluation. This comes after Wheeler reportedly got into an altercation with police earlier today after officers responded to a call about a man who was punching walls and windows at an apartment near the USC campus. Wheeler was not arrested but was taken to the hospital. Needless to say, Wheeler is unlikely to play in the Trojans’ bowl game with Wisconsin in the Holiday Bowl on January 30th. RB Tre Madden, who underwent knee surgery earlier this week, will also miss the team’s bowl game. No word, though, on whether Madden might still be available to play in the NFLPA all-star game on January 16th.
