UGA ER Smith out for year … Updating that report from yesterday on the shoulder injury suffered by rising Georgia OLB Nolan Smith, a potential top 15 prospect for the upcoming draft. The school had hoped that the injury was not serious and that he might even be able to play Saturday when the top-ranked Bulldogs face #3 Tennessee. However, the school confirmed earlier today that Smith will in fact miss the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle that will require surgery. Given that the recovery time for that kind of surgery is 3-4 it is iffy whether Smith would be cleared in time for the combine, although he could work out for teams either at the Georgia pro day or privately closer to the draft.
