UDub OT Pulls out of draft

UDub OT Pulls out of draft … Washington OT Jaxson Kirkland has reportedly opted to try and withdraw from the 2022 draft and return to school for the upcoming college season. Kirkland has reportedly been dealing with an ankle injury that has turned out out to be worse than first thought.  As a result he will have surgery in the next few days. However, it is not quite a done deal deal for Kirkland because he had already signed with an agent. As a result, the school will have to file a petition with the NCAA in order for him to return, although they have granted such requests in the recent past. At one point last year Kirkland was considered to be a potential mid first round prospect, but he dropped into the second-day mix after having an indifferent campaign this past season, although its not clear if the ankle had any impact on his play in 2021. College seniors who wish to take advantage of the NCAA’s ‘free-year’ of eligibility because of covid have until March 1st to inform the NFL of their intentions.
