UConn first FBS school to opt out of season

UConn first FBS school to opt out of season … UConn has become the first FBS program to cancel their 2020 football season because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Huskies have never had a player test positive for the virus, but they were running out of teams to play. UConn was going to be an independent this fall after leaving the American Athletic Conference and were being dropped by opponents who were going to be playing only conference schedules this fall. The Huskies probably could have found new opponents, but the state’s governor was reluctant to allow UConn to travel to states with high infection rates.
