Two more Big Ten prospects opt out … One of the big concerns regarding shifting the college season to the spring is that a large number of players intending to enter the 2021 draft will simply opt out. The Big Ten, which has rescheduled its season to the spring, had two more seniors announce today that they will pass on their final year of eligibility and get an early start on pre-draft preparation. The two are Northwestern OG Rashawn Slater and Michigan CB Ambry Thomas. Slater is a particularly intriguing guy; he would have played LT for the Wildcats this season, but at 6-3, 315 will likely move inside at the next level. Indeed, he’s considered one of the top interior OL prospects for the upcoming draft with solid early second day potential. Meanwhile, UM’s Thomas (5-11, 185) is more a third day candidate who had 38 tackles and 3 picks last fall.
