Two ERs enter draft

January 11, 2021

Pair of ERs enter draft … The 2021 draft got a little richer at edge rusher over the weekend with announceents by a couple of DE/OLB/ERs that they would be entering this year’s draft. The better known name of the two is Ronnie Perkins of Oklahoma, a rising second day prospect in this year’s field who could get some serious late first round interest by the time April 28th rolls around. Perkins is a little undersized at 6-2, 250, but is very quick and relentless and had a breakout year this past season when he posted 5.5 sacks in just 6 games for the Sooners. Perkins will be joined in this year’s draft class by Marshall’s Darius Hodge, who like his OU counterpart is somewhat undersized at 6-2, 240, but has some upfield ability as he posted 6.5 sacks in 10 games. Hodge, though, is still considered to be more a late 3rd day type prospect.
