The Turk warming up … While the first full weekend of college football gets underway later this evening, the final round of NFL pre-season games will also be played tonight. Just don’t expect very many – if any at all – of the top players from any team to get anywhere near the field this evening. And once tonight’s games wrap up, NFL teams will have to get down to the serious business of making their cuts as all teams have to be down to the league-mandated 53-man opening day roster limit by 4 PM ET on Saturday afternoon. Most teams wait until the deadline to officially release their cuts, but some may start to announce their releases as early as tomorrow. Should be a very busy 40-hour period with almost 1,200 players to be released league-wide in that period. Stay tuned!
