Turk is on the prowl

August 30, 2019

The Turk is on the prowl … With the NFL pre-season slate having wrapped up last night the hard work begins for teams around the league as they now have until 4 PM ET Saturday afternoon to get down to the 53-man opening day limit. And because there is no longer a preliminary round of cuts, most teams will have to release, trade or IR up to 37 players in one fell swoop. That’s a lot of players. If the past is any guide a few teams will announce some or all of their moves beginning today, but most wait until pretty close to the deadline to announce their transactions. In fact, some dom’t actually announce their announce their cuts until well after the 4 PM deadline. As usual, we’ll be tracking all the cuts and trades with a special eye toward players taken at the 2019 draft. Then once those released have cleared waivers, teams can begin adding players to their practice squads on Sunday afternoon.
