Troubled Husker TE in trouble … The long, winding football story of Nebraska TE Arik Gilbert took another strange turn last night when he was arrested and charged with burglary after a botched attempted robbery of a liquor store. Gilbert was originally a big-time recruit at LSU, but transferred originally to Florida and then shortly afterward to Georgia. He didn’t play much at all in 2021 while dealing with what were described as personal issues and then just played little last year before tarnsferring to Nebraska over the winter. He is currently waiting to hear back from the NCAA as he has applied for a waiver to play this fall, but it sounds like all that could be put on hold.
