Top pick stay in the Big apple; shifts to Jets … Given the chance to move into the #1 pick at the 2021 draft, at least for this week, the NY Jets left little to chance as they fell behind 21-0 at the half in Miami before finally losing 24-0 to drop to 0-6. That leaves the Jets as the NFL’s only remaining winless team after both the NY Giants and Atlanta, who had also been 0-5 heading into the the week got their first wins of the season. As a result, if the draft were held this week, the Jets will indeed be sitting on the top pick this week, while Washington, which lost to the Giants in New York would have the second pick with the Giants and Falcons dropping into the 3rd and 4th slots respectively followed by Jacksonville, Minnesota, Houston and the LA Chargers. The Chargers, though, remain something of a wild card in the early selection order. The Chargers are the only one-win team that has had a bye and therefore have played one game less. Hence the fact that they would pick 8th in the current order. However, the Chargers have the weakest strength of schedule of all the one-win teams and would move all the way up to the #2 pick if they were to lose their game in hand. FTR we will be posting our initial weekly selection order after tomorrow night’s Monday night games.
