Top picks set for week … There are still the late games, as well as this week’s prime time contests, to go this week, but the top 6 picks in the proverbial ‘if the draft were held today’ selection order for the opening round of the 2017 draft are already set. Of course, still winless Cleveland will hold the #1 pick for at least another week after losing to Baltimore on Thursday evening. Meanwhile, San Francisco will hold the 2nd pick for the week whether or not they beat Arizona in one of today’s late games as the 1-7 49ers have a weaker SOS than both Chicago and Jacksonville, the league’s two-win teams. For the record, Chicago will still have the 3rd pick this week, while the Jaguars will sit 4th followed by the Jets at #5 and Carolina at #6. As usual, the full, updated 1st round selection order will be posted after tomorrow night’s Monday night game.
