Top 3 picks hold

December 11, 2016

Top 3 picks hold … There will not be any change to the first three picks in this week’s updated selection order for the opening round of the 2017 draft. Cleveland inched all that much closer to clinching the first overall pick after losing 23-10 to Cincinnati. And San Francisco will end up keeping the #2 pick for at least another week even with a win over the Jets in a 4 PM game – and the 49ers are out to a two TD lead in that one as we speak – because even with a second win, SF will pick ahead of 2-11 Jacksonville which has a somewhat stronger strength-of-schedule factor. At the same time, the Jets are likely to come out of the weekend with the 4th pick if they can’t come back in San Francisco, while Chicago would have the 5th selection in that scenario. Meanwhile, the rest of the top 10 and beyond is still to be determined by today’s late games. As usual the full updated weekly selection were the draft to be held this week with be posted after tomorrow’s Monday night game.
