Maybe time to start the picking … There comes a time in every draft process when one just starts to think ‘too much analysis really does lead to paralysis.’ And I think we hit that point, maybe even a day or so ago. Literally every Tom, Dick, and Harry out there with access to an internet account, for example, has posted a mock draft it seems in the past couple of days. And they all just slide the same players into different slots until it all becomes just a big blur. At the same time, there are dozens of pieces out there highlighting ‘the 6 can’t miss prospects!’, ‘the 5 guys who’ll be picked in the first round that shouldn’t!’, and ‘the surprise picks no one is expecting!’ Only problem is that half the time the different articles are completely contradictory. Our favorite this cycle may have been pieces that appeared in the past few days reporting that the ‘odds for Kentucky QB Will Levis to go #1 overall just went way up’ and ‘Levis now favorite to go second overall!’ And I’m thinking what a guy that Levis is if he’s the favorite to be selected with BOTH the first and second picks. As we said, its the silly season. As such, we will continue to report real news like breaking trades until the start of the draft, but for the most part we’ll be ignoring the rumors. After all, we’ll find out for sure in just over 30 hours!! However, for those looking for something to help wile away the hours here’s a kind of fun piece courtesy of the NFL.com.
