Titans closing in on top pick; name names … Tennessee remains somewhat coy about what they intend to do with the #1 pick overall at the upcoming draft. The Titans continue to hint that they will consider offers to trade the pick, but nobody really expects that to happen. Indeed, the worst kept secret around the NFL is that the Titans will select Miami QB Cam Ward when they get on the clock just after 8 PM ET on April 24th. Tennessee head coach Brian Callahan, though, indicated during an interview with NFL Media that the Titans have not yet made a final decision, but that they are getting closer. Callahan even went an extra step that NFL people almost never take in his situation when he said “it’s a short list at No. 1 for sure” but then literally named the guys on it by listing Ward, Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, and Shedeur Sanders as “the most elite players in the draft.” What may be a little surprising there is that he included Sanders on that list of potential elite players as he generally hasn’t been getting that kind of respect from the draft community.
