Tide QB Jones, CB Surtain; two others enter draft … Four underclassmen from national champion Alabama announced at a joint press conference earlier this afternoon that they will be foregoing their remaining collegiate eligibility and will be entering the 2021 draft. The four include QB Mac Jones, CB Patrick Surtain, WR Jaylen Waddle and DT Christian Barmore. Jones, Surtain and Waddle are juniors, while Barmore is a redshirt sophomore. All four are considered to be first round prospects with Jones and Surtain projected as top 10 candidates. Meanwhile, while there was no formal statement from the team, it appears that four other ‘Bama juniors who had been toying with the idea of entering the 2021 draft – CB Josh Jobe, DT Phidarian Mathis, LB Chris Allen, and FS Daniel Wright – will be staying in school. Same for senior RB Brian Robinson, who will reportedly take advantage of the NCAA’s waiver year and will also return next fall. Underclassmen have until the end of business on Monday to file paperwork with the NFL in order to be eligible for the upcoming draft.
