Four more enter draft; two return … Underclassmen continue to make known their intentions for 2021 with four more declaring for the draft, while a couple of talented DBs indicated they would be returning to school next fall. Headlining the list of new draft entries is rising Iowa DT Daviyon Nixon, an Outland Trophy finalist who is currently the 38th player ranked on the GBN Big Board. Joining Nixon in the upcoming class are Southern California junior FS Talanoa Hufanga and TCU redshirt sophomore CB Ar’Darius Washington, both of whom are second day prospects with a lot of upside, along with Stanford OT Foster Sarell, an early-to-mid 3rd day candidate. Meanwhile two other DBs, Oklahoma State safety Tre Sterling and Texas A&M CB Elijah Blades have indicated that they will be back at school next fall. Blades decision ends a somewhat convoluted path in which he originally announced that he was opting out of the 2020 college season but would return for 2021. Then a few weeks later, he announced in late September that he was still opting out, but was declaring for the draft instead. In early December, though, Blades changed his mind again and re-joined the Aggies, although he still intended to enter the draft. However, he has once again changed his mind and is withdrawing his name from draft entry and says that he has decided to return to school and play the 2021 college season.
