Three more enter draft

January 2, 2020

Three more enter draft … Three more juniors have confirmed they will be entering the 2020 draft including Oklahoma ILB Kenneth Murray, Notre Dame TE Cole Kmet,  and Florida Atlantic CB James Pierre. Murray is the top-rated ILB on the GBN positional ranking and the 19th overall prospect on the GBN Big Board after he lead the Sooners with 102 tackles this fall including 4 sacks and 13 tackles for loss, while he also chipped in 4 pass breakups. Meanwhile, it was actually thought that Kmet would return to school next year when he hinted he’d be playing baseball for the Irish this spring, but that obviously is now off the table.  Like Murray, Kmet is the top-rated guy at his position on the GBN TE ranking and is considered to be a late first or early second round candidate. Pierre on the other hand is more of a fringe draft prospect, although at 6-2 has nice length and had a reasonably productive year in 2019 when he recorded 44 tackles and picked off three passes. Underclassmen have until the end of business on January 20th to file paperwork with the NFL in order to be eligible for the upcoming draft.
