Three more juniors declare for draft … A trio of juniors announced today that they will be entering the upcoming draft. Heading the list is Indiana WR Simmie Cobbs, a first-team All Big Ten team honoree this year. Cobbs is a big (6-3, 220), physical underneath receiver who had 72 receptions this fall despite an unsetteld QB situation at IU. Cobbs is a second-day prospect who is currently rated #7 on the GBN positional ranking and 54th overall. Meanwhile, Boise State WLB Leighton Vander Esch also announced Thursday that he’s leaving school a year early to enter the draft where he also figures to be an early to mid second round pick. The 6-3. 240-pound Vander Esch was the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year this past season when he posted 141 tackles including 4 sacks, three interceptions and three forced fumbles. Vander Esch is currently the 45th rated player on the GBN Top 100 listing. At the same time, the exodus continued at Texas where junior P Michael Dickson, who led the country in punting this past season with an average of over 48 yards per kick, became the 4th former Longhorn underclassmen to enter the draft.
