That’s a wrap

April 24, 2020

That’s a wrap … The opening round of the 2020 draft wrapped up just after midnight this evening when the Kansas City Chiefs selected former LSU RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire with the 32nd and final pick in tonight’s first round. However, there won’t be much of a break for NFL personnel types who are already busy restacking their boards and rethinking their options in preparation for the second and third rounds which get underway at 7 PM ET tomorrow evening. And there is a lot of talent left on the board including players like safeties Grant Delpit and Xavier McKinney; WRs Tee Higgins and Denzel Mims; OTs Josh Jones and Ezra Cleveland who were thought to be virtual locks to be selected in the opening round. Meanwhile, other top prospects still on the board include QBs Jacob Eason, Jake Fromm and Jalen Hurts; RBs D’Andre Swift, Jonathan Taylor, and J.K. Dobbins; WRs Michael Pittman, Chase Claypool, and Laviska Shenault; TEs Cole Kmet and Adam Trautman; OTs Matt Peart, Lucas Niang and Prince Tega Wanagho; OGs John Simpson, Robert Hunt, Netane Muti, and Solomon Kindley; Cs Lloyd Cushenberry, Tyler Biadasz and Matt Hennessey; DEs AJ Epenesa, Yetur Gross-Matos, and Marlon Davidson; DTs Ross Blacklock, Neville Gallimore, Raekwon Davis, and James Lynch; LBs Zach Baun, Julian Okwara, and Terrelle Lewis; CBs Trevon Diggs, Kristian Fulton, and Jaylon Johnson; and safeties Antoine Winfield, Jeremy Chinn, and Ashtyn Davis. Here’s the updated GBN Big Board.
