Texans’ Watson finally gets some days in court … The NFL may finally get a little clarity on the legal situation of embattled Houston QB DeShaun Watson on Friday. A grand jury has been impaneled in Houston to hear evidence related to the allegations of sexual assault against Watson on Friday and there is even some hope that the local DA may decide whether to proceed with any criminal charges by the end of tomorrow’s proceedings. Ironically, at the same time as the grand jury is looking at the case, Watson is scheduled to be deposed by lawyers for several of the women who have filed civil suits against him. However, with the criminal issues still unresolved, Watson will reportedly invoke the 5th amendment in the civil hearing today. For the NFL, though, the real issue to watch are the criminal proceedings. Multiple teams have now said that they would be willing to talk trade with the Texans for Watson even if the civil suits were proceeding as long as the criminal matters are resolved. On the other hand, if Watson is charged its unlikely he’ll be playing anywhere soon. Stay tuned!
