Texans’ rookie WR Metchie diagnosed with leukemia … Houston rookie WR John Metchie announced earlier today that he has been diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia and likely will not play this season. Metchie, whom the Texans traded up in the second round of the 2022 to acquire, was already sidelined with an torn ACL suffered in last fall’s SEC championship game. Fortunately, APL is reportedly the most curable form of leukemia and Metchie hopes to be able to resume his career in 2023. We wish him the very best of luck.
