Supp draft list

July 2, 2015

Three more added to supp draft list … The NFL has announced that three more players will be available in next week’s supplemental draft including Houston DE Eric Eiland, UConn TE Sean McQuillan, and Kansas CB Kevin Short. They join Clemson OT Isaiah Battle, DT Dalvon Stuckey and DE Darrius Caldwell, both of West Georgia, and North Carolina Central WR/KR Adrian Wilkins as players who will be eligible for next Thursday’s supplemental draft, bringing the total to 7, although only Battle is actually expected to be selected. For the record, Eiland is an older player who played 4 years in the minor league system of the Toronto Blue Jays; he’s 6-2, 225 and had 44 tackles including a sack last fall. At the same time, the 6-3, 250-pound McQuillan was expecgted to start for a 3rd straight year for the Huskies this fall, but was kicked off the team last month after he was charged with assault following a fight with his roommate; in his two years with UConn, McQuillan caught 41 passes. Meanwhile, the 6-2 Short starred at the junior college, but ultimately never played a down for Kansas after he was denied academic eligibility in 2013 and then was dismissed from the team prior to the 2014 campaign.
