Steelers’ ‘ GM Colbert to retire … It will be an off-season of change in Pittsburgh. Not only will QB ben Roethlisberger be retiring, but there are reports this morning that long-time G.M. Kevin Colbert, one of the most respected personnel guys in the league will be retiring after this year’s draft. Colbert joined the Steelers in 2000 as Director of Football Operations and became G.M. in 2010. Under his direction, the Steelers won two Super Bowls and appeared in a third. The franchise has also not had a losing season since 2003. There is also a good chance the Steelers stay in-house to replace Colbert with Omar Khan, the team’s VP of football operations and business administration and pro scouting coordinator Brandon Hunt the primary candidates.
